UNTV Reporter Wins PAGASA’s “Wind Vane Award”

Reynante “Rey” Pelayo, UNTV weather reporter, was recognized as one of the awardees of PAGASA’s Wind Vane Award.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) gives the award to outstanding Filipino citizens who have given exemplary contributions and support to the weather bureau in delivering its public services and assistance.

Rey Pelayo is a UNTV senior correspondent, has seen forecasting a wide-range and interactive weather update in the Philippines.

Other recipients of the award include: DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo, DILG Secretary Manuel A. Roxas, Office of Civil Defense Administrator and NDRRMC Executive Director Usec. Alexander P Pama, Legazpi City Mayor Noel E. Rosal, Cagayan De Oro CDRRMC Ret Col Mario Verner S. Monsato, PAGASA retiree Engr. Claro S. Doctor, and Ms Hazel Arandez Tanchuling.

Conferment of the 2015 Wind Vane Award will be held on tonight’s DOST-PAGASA 150th Year Anniversary and World/National Meteorological Day celebration at the PAGASA’s main office lobby.
