More than one thousand indigent residents of Barangay Balon-bato in Quezon City enjoyed free medical, legal and other services from UNTV Action Center on a People’s Day event last May 23, 2014.
Among the participating agencies who provided complete line of public service were Kamanggagawa Foundation Inc. (KFI), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Army General Hospital, the 1st Civil Military Operation Company, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserved Command, Cut Encarnacion Salon, ILearn, Manila Eye Surgical Center Inc. (MESCI), and Photoville International.
Volunteer nurses perform initial diagnostic procedures on indigent patients consulting during the 3rd People’s Day by the UNTV. The quick action of these good samaritans eased the whole process for the people awaiting their turn for free consultation and prescriptioning.

The free eye examination and free eyeglasses provided at the 3rd People’s Day are a way to assist a mother and her son afford services that are beyond their financial capabilities. The happy smiles are proofs of the success of the project.
The UNTV 3rd People’s Day volunteer doctors attend to the patients with utmost care and provide general check-up to make sure all of their medical concerns are addressed.
Patients who have undergone consultation and diagnostics are provided free of charge with the prescribed medicines to make sure treatment is complete.
Residents, especially the moms, take advantage of the free anti-stress services given by the abled masseuse of i-Learn.
No more painful bad tooth day as the UNTV 3rd People’s Day even tap volunteer dentists from the Philippine Army who provided tooth extraction and cleaning during the medical mission.
UNTV News and Rescue Team conducts First Aid and Safety seminar during UNTV Action Center’s visit in Brgy. Balon-bato, Quezon City. The seminar aims to prepare residents in times of accidents and calamities.
Philhealth sends out its own volunteers to assist their members who need to sort out or file their own medical coverage. The agency also processes new membership application at the venue.
Brgy. Captain Roberto Orli says that the highly organized and totally free medical assistance provided by UNTV Action Center was a first at Brgy. Balon-bato. Orli and his constituents’ expresses gratitude towards the activity and its volunteers.
