UNTV Covers New Year with ‘REPASO 2012’

Unlike other TV stations promising to welcome 2013 through gigs and countdown of performances, UNTV is set to deliver news and rescue coverage at the same time through the station’s News and Rescue Command Center.

Titled “Repaso 2012,” the special coverage is a review of the year to end and a continuance of the station’s advocacy to render rescue and emergency assistance while bringing forth responsible reporting. It will be broadcast live from 9 p.m. tonight (December 31) to 5 a.m. the next day overlapping the first episode of Good Morning Kuya! for 2013.

Repaso 2012 of UNTV brings live news and rescue operations coverage of 2013 New Year celebration.

Like the previous years, UNTV will mobilize its news-and-rescue vehicles to provide emergency-response operations and services on the night of the traditional welcoming of New Year. These vehicles are equipped, not only with rescue gears and devices but also with portable video-over-cellular backpack solution for mobile broadcast called, Live U.

In addition, satellite branches of Clinic ni Kuya Daniel will be operational to provide medical assistance and aid to possible victims of firecracker-related accidents and other emergency incidents. Apart from stationary clinics, roaming health hubs in remote areas will also be deployed to give professional medical care.

As another first in Philippines broadcast history, the Command Center was conceptualized and launched last December 2010 by UNTV CEO Daniel Razon as part of his Tulong Muna Bago Balita (Rescue First, Report Later) initiatives.
