Celebrity Players Grateful for Sing and Shoot
The first two series of Sing and Shoot, a concert and basketball game for a cause spearheaded by broadcast journalist Kuya Daniel Razon, brought appreciation not only to the scholars of La Verdad Christian College but also to the celebrities who participated in the event. In an interview with UNTV reporter, some celebrity participants shared their thoughts and experiences:
John Hall: Mahilig ako sa basketball so I play mga 3-4 times a week and usually ako ang magbayad sa court di ba, so ito parang for charity, I can help somebody out.
Jordan Herrera: I’m very thankful kasi na-invite ako dito and naging part ako ng event na ito.
Others who played for Team Celebrities were Ervic Vijandre, Zoren Legaspi, Kier Legaspi, Brando Legaspi, Dinky Doo, Jr., Dave Almarinez, Rey “PJ” Abellana, and FPJ look-a-like Bobby Henson. Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III coached the team.
The Sing and Shoot 1 and 2 were held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum last March 19 and June 11, 2012, respectively. The events featured a mini concert of some Filipino music artists and a friendly basketball match between teams of showbiz personalities and public servants.
