UNTV Unveils New Website Highlighting Free 24/7 Webcast
UNTV launched its online home recently, saying the site was repackaged to bring more news, interactivity, videos, and public service.
With free 24/7 live video streaming as its key offering since 2004, the year UNTVweb.com made its debut on the web, the new website enhanced its live webcast and added Facebook chat. The live video immediately plays upon entering the site’s homepage.
Video streaming is now made using Adobe Flash, which is the preferred video platform by most internet viewers who are used to such tool when watching videos at their favorite video sharing sites like Youtube, Vimeo, Hulu, and more.
Meanwhile, UNTV added Facebook social plugin to provide viewers on its website a glimpse of their friends’ online activities via Facebook. The purpose is to connect with millions of Facebook users worldwide, particularly Filipinos around the world who clamor for more local programming.
Most UNTV programs are aired live and the opening of the live webcast of these programs are aimed at OFWs who clamor for local programming via the Internet. Among these programs are Good Morning Kuya, Get it Straight with Daniel Razon, Bitag Live, Ito ang Balita, and more.
UNTV head of Marketing Dick Masa said audience nowadays want to take a more active role in voicing their sentiments, opinions and reactions to a political or social views. “That is what we at UNTV are striving to fulfill, to give our audience the best platform to assure them that we are listening to their sentiments,” said Masa.
Among its other offerings at UNTVweb.com, the site’s video section is now beefed up with bigger library of the most current video episodes of each program, according to Masa.
“There are now more than 1,000 videos at the site but adding up of old and new videos are still ongoing. Our target is more than 5,000 videos at the end of the year,” added the marketing executive.
As more videos are being added, audience who missed past episodes of their favorite UNTV programs can catch up even if they were not able to watch the program on schedule. The good news is that like the live stream feature, videos of past episodes can be watched free of charge.
UNTV also introduced its enhanced news section with content pooled from its Ito ang Balita, Fast Break News and Hataw Balita news programs.
As this developed, the Philippine Web Awards released its list of semi-finalists for 12 categories where UNTVweb.com, http://www.danielrazon.com and esoriano.wordpress.com are competing for the top prize. UNTVweb.com and DanielRazon.com have been awarded in the past as the best websites in their categories, including the people’s choice awards. Bro. Eli Soriano, host of the Ang Dating Daan program, was also the top winner with Most Popular Website of the Year awards for his program’s website and the preacher’s blog.
