UNTV Grabs 2 Gandingan Awards
UNTV grabbed two best livelihood-oriented awards in the recently held Gandingan 2011: The 5th UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards.
The University of the Philippines-Los Baños broadcasting community named Bread and Butter as the Best Livelihood-Oriented Program while Ating Alamin host Ka Gerry Geronimo was honored the Best Livelihood-Oriented Program Host, also known as the Gandingan ng Kabuhayan Awardee.
Bread n’ Butter is UNTV’s business and travel show aired every Tuesday from 5:00-6:00 pm. In less than three months, it has received two awards, the first of which was the Anak TV Seal from the Anak TV Foundation. The seal is a hallmark of a family-friendly show. Twelve other UNTV shows received such recognition. Besides its webcast, Bread n’ Butter serves the global Filipino through The Filipino Channel (TFC).
Another UNTV program up to providing insights in becoming financially independent is Ating Alamin, the longest-running agri-entrepreneurial and livelihood program on Philippine television. Ka Gerry Geronimo hosts the show. Ating Alamin is aired every Sunday, 6:00-7:00 am.
Both shows are only two of UNTV’s long list of public service-oriented programs. Known as the Public Service Channel in the Philippines, UNTV strives to produce quality shows geared at improving the lives of its viewers.
