Because We Love Kuya Daniel’s Call…

Second, the Isang Araw Lang: The Album became a ground breaking gold record upon the eve of its launch! The movie’s official soundtrack, Isang Araw Lang outshines the albums of other popular Pinoy recording artists, and made history for earning Gold Record in just one day.

For the record, Kuya Daniel, although a naturally good singer by heart, is a newcomer in the recording industry. He bagged the Most Popular Male Recording Artist of the 21st Awit Awards for his debut album, All My Life.

Because we love Kuya Daniel’s call so much, our feisty eyes have scooped these news and blog post about Kuya Daniel’s feats for his ingenious indie-film and gold record album, Isang Araw Lang.

Here is the post from the Daily Tribune penned by Edsel-Thadeus O. Lorete:

Celebrity morning talk show host Daniel Razon marks on another milestone with Isang Araw Lang, his third album, a project that followed the resounding success of his maiden outing, In My Eyes, which went platinum less than a month from its commercial release.

This album, in particular the theme song to my indie movie of the same title, is more than just recorded songs. I take it as a form of selfless volunteerism to motivate people to do good even for just one day of the year,” said Razon, who declined invitations for him to run for public office again.

Isang Araw Lang, whose sale proceeds will fund charitable missions Razon put up and extended to media practitioners and their relatives, compiles Daniel’s favorites, including his mellow versions of “Hold On,” “So Many Questions,” “Your Love,” “Habang May Buhay,” “With A Smile,” “‘Wag Na Lang Kaya” and “Tag-Ulan.”

Here is another news penned by Marge Navaro (Magandang Balita, page 2, 1st wk Sept 2009):

Here is a blog post by a blogger named Feron:

It was a jam packed to the rafter as supporters of Kuya Daniel and the members of the Bible Readers (BREAD) Society International joined him on his project of giving “Free College Education” to the less fortunate but deserving youth of our society.

Other performers of the concert includes the BMPI Dancers, Krist Melencio with a series of medley, Play Band did Oh Kabataan and Africa, Crumbs rendered T.L. Ako Sa ‘Yo and Iisang Bangka with Kiko Reyes (formerly of The Dawn), Shamrock sang Alipin and Makita kang Muli, while Milan with Black or White of MJ then I just Can’t Stop Loving You with Connie Yanga. Itchyworms with Penge Naman Ako Niyan and their version of APO’s Awit ng Barkada.

The Isang Araw Lang (For Just One Day Only) has come to New York. Brethren from the East Coast of USA and Canada gathered together to attend the live celebration of Thanksgiving, August 28 – 29, 2009. No other than Brother Daniel Razon came to grace the occasion. Brother Noli Saballa and of course our very own, Brother Marvin Go. I have seen also brethren from the West Coast of USA.

The showing of the movie was in downtown Manhattan, and if you are in NY, you don’t drive your car. You either take the taxi or ride the Metro Train. We did the latter.

The ride was fun and noisy, the usual Pinoy style.

As for the movie review, I have never expected a more beautiful movie. Not in terms of high technology, but for a movie done in ten days, and I am very sure the budget was very low, yet the story has a strong impact on the viewers. It was full of wisdom of God which for a Christian is sweet sounding.

The roles were played accordingly and some I suspect, are first timers. Not bad, but the best thing is the story line. Simple, yet very heart warming and very real.

As for Brother Daniel, the acting was natural. Why? This is his life. He was re -creating in film, the things he does everyday, except maybe for some fighting scene. Mostly, the kawang gawa is his forte. That is where he is comfortable with. In giving needs of the poor, shelter to the homeless, medical care to the sick, free transportation to the aged and to those who have none, and food to the hungry.

I know the feeling, because in a very small way, we, in the Church of God International are extensions of who he is and most especially Brother Eliseo Soriano.

The feeling of fullness of heart, something you cannot explain but you feel elated every time you do something good.

    Thanks be to God.
