Kuya Daniel Razon to perform, launch new album on a youth concert
Kuya Daniel Razon will perform for the first time the theme song of his advocacy titled “Isang Araw Lang,” in a youth concert and convention on August 17, at the Araneta Coliseum. This also marks the launching of his second album which contains this carrier single.
“YConCon: Isang Araw Lang,” the sequel to the successful fund-raising concert event held in 2007, is a project of a youth organization called BREAD (Bible Readers’ Society) International.
Scheduled to start at 7:30 pm, the event promises to be even bigger than the successful concert held three years ago at the same venue. Some of the country’s top individual performers and bands who are expected to perform are: Pupil, Nina, Sugarfree, Itchyworms, Shamrock, Francis “Kiko” Reyes of the Dawn, and BREADcrumbs.
The message of Kuya Daniel Razon’s latest song is to motivate people to do good even for just one day in a year. As explained by Kuya Daniel, there are 365 days in a year, 30 days in a month, 7 days in a week and they are never complete without a day. “Isang Araw Lang” is more than just a song but a call for selfless volunteerism. “Walk your talk,” is one of Kuya Daniel’s principles.
As the host of public-service morning program, “Good Morning, Kuya!”, on UNTV 37 and known popularly as “Mr. Public Service”, Kuya Daniel has been spearheading many projects for the welfare of indigent citizens.
These projects include the following: “Clinic ni Kuya”, which gives free medical and dental checkups, along with free medicine and laboratory tests daily; the “Libreng Sakay sa Bus” (Free Bus Ride); the “Libreng Sakay sa MRT” (Free MRT Rides for Senior Citizens);
“Munting Pangarap” (Small Wish), a weekly wish-fulfilling service to help the less-privileged; the “Law Center ni Kuya,” in which a group of lawyers provide free legal consultations; “Job Fair ni Kuya”, a venue for job seekers; and the “Free Transient Home”, which is a joint project with Bro. Eli Soriano, the host of the program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path).
Proceeds from the YConCon: Isang Araw Lang will go to the various public service projects of Kuya Daniel Razon, particularly the Free College project which will provide free education to selected scholars from indigent families.
The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Kamanggagawa Foundation, the “Ang Dating Daan” (The Old Path) and UNTV.
Meanwhile Kuya Daniel hopes that his Just One Day (Isang Araw Lang) campaign will help awaken the sense of responsibility of the Filipinos, not just towards nationalism but also towards compassion for our fellowmen.
If each Filipino would say “I will do it myself,” even for Just One Day, we will be seeing changes. “Nothing is really too hard when one is committed”, he said.
The concert is a production of Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International Inc. (BMPI) in cooperation with UNTV 37. [Press Release]
