The Beautiful Story of “Isang Araw Lang”

2009 March 31

How can a Kuya Daniel fan not know about the Isang Araw Lang (Just One Day) campaign?

Well…okay. You might have been warped into another dimension and have just found your way back to good ol’ earth, or even got locked in a freezer decades ago and just awoke now… but none of these are possible! So you simply have to know about Kuya Daniel and UNTV’s Isang Araw Lang campaign.

Hmm… all right. I’ve heard your excuse, and it is valid. Here’s the sitch:

On February 24, 2009, Kuya Daniel and the rest of Pondahan were publicly professing their pondering on pressing issues that plague the Philippine people (Wasn’t reading that fun?). And then, the most ingenious of ideas like a streak of light comes from Kuya Daniel: What if a doctor or lawyer just gives one day of his service to his fellow for free? What if any Filipino who has the capacity to give sacrifices just one day for his fellow in need?

And that is how the Isang Araw Lang campaign was born and its cries have been ever so echoing on print, radio, TV, and the Internet since then.

That’s the story. But, actually, it’s only the beginning. There’s still a long way to go before the story ends and will probably have its sequel or series. After all, it is Kuya Daniel we’re talking about here–the man behind the daily free bus ride service and medical missions, free Transient Home, and more!

However, in truth, it isn’t just about Kuya Daniel. It’s about YOU  too. ALL of US! Each of us has a part, everyone that has the capacity to help his fellow by sacrificing just one day or isang araw lang. So let’s not let this beautiful story end without us being a part of it.

After all, as Kuya borrowed from his famed uncle, Bro. Eli Soriano of The Old Path, “There is no good work that will result to evil.”

A beautiful story? Indeed. The question is, where are we in it?

THE END…NOT!

If we will only respond to the call of Kuya Daniel Razon, we can give this kid far more than a day's worth of food and clothing.
